Manage Weight Organically

How are your #HealthySolutions progressing? If one of your goals for 2016 (and beyond) is weight loss, you’re not alone! Losing weight is the #1 resolution made in the U.S. every year. So, did you stick to your guns in January, only to fall apart at the sight of Valentine’s Day chocolate once February rolled around? Not to worry. Get back on track with our tips for managing weight organically: 1) Incorporate high quality protein into every meal. Protein helps to stabilize blood sugar and keeps you feeling full longer. Lean protein also nourishes muscles so when you lose weight, you're not losing muscle mass. Our new Organic Slim Powder has 20 grams of high quality organic protein and only 3 net carbs per serving. It makes a perfect meal replacement when blended with fruits and almond butter or an awesome post workout snack, mixed with water in a shaker bottle. 2) Eliminate all simple carbohydrates. When trying to lose weight, it’s important to only consume carbohydrates in the form of whole fruits (preferably low glycemic fruits that won't spike insulin levels) and high fiber foods like brown rice and quinoa. Limit these "healthy" carbs to 2-3 servings a day, and be extra careful to avoid carbs that may be lurking in processed or refined foods. 3) Don't be afraid of fat. Healthy fats can actually aid in weight loss. Foods high in monounsaturated fats and medium chain fatty acids increase thermogenesis, the process of burning calories by generating heat, and help you feel more satisfied than other foods. Replace simple carbs with healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, nuts, and avocado. Just don’t overdo it - fats are still high in calories and can add up quickly . Healthy fats should only account for about a quarter of your diet. 4) Drink Green Tea. Green Tea and Matcha Tea are rich in the antioxidant EGCG, which has been proven to boost metabolism and help the body burn fat. Green tea is also rich in catechins, which are compounds that trigger the release of fat cells from the abdominal area. For full benefits, drink 4 – 5 cups a day. (A serving of our Organic Slim Powder contains the fat fighting equivalent of one cup of green/matcha tea.) Don’t feel frustrated if you can’t go out tomorrow and eliminate all simple carbohydrates, drink 5 cups of green tea, and trade in every treat for a slice of avocado. Try taking our tips one step at a time and making changes to your diet bit by bit so that you don’t feel overwhelmed. Once these changes have become a regular part of your eating routine, we think you’ll find that the health and energy benefits far outweigh the effort.
