Birthday Cake Protein Donuts

Cook up delicious, better-for-you donuts at home with this simple recipe using plant-based protein powder and wholesome ingredients like oat milk and coconut oil. These Birthday Cake-flavored donuts are not only packed with protein but also incredibly tasty, making them a perfectly light yet, satisfying treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops Orgain® Birthday Cake Plant-Based Organic Protein™ Plant-Based Protein Powder
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 ½ ounces maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 cup unsweetened oat milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 12-count donut pan and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and protein powder of your choice. Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, melted coconut oil, and oat milk and mix until incorporated (the dough will be thick).
  3. Using a spatula, put the dough into a large sandwich bag and cut the tip. Pipe the dough into the pre-greased molds (don’t overfill!).
  4. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. You can also top donuts with additional protein powder for your enjoyment! 
  7. Enjoy!
