5 Killer Vacay Workouts

The best part of any vacation? Making time for yourself! Any one of these workouts are a great way to get in some “you” time and enjoy your surroundings. Vacations are a time to relax and get away from the hectic day-to-day. And while you should embrace some serious R&R, you’ll return to work more relaxed and enjoy that late-afternoon beachfront cocktail that much more if you know you did your body some good too. So don’t let your vacation derail you from your fitness journey. Give these four workouts a try. 1.Run It doesn’t get much simpler than this, but running on vacation can be a fantastic way to explore your new surroundings while getting your heart pumping. And if you’re traveling with someone, ask them to come along. You can explore together while enjoying the benefits of a heart-pounding workout, all while catching up with a loved one.
  1. Tabata
Tabata workouts have gained some serious attention over the last few years and for good reason -- heart thumping, equipment free, and customizable is where it’s at, especially when on vacation! The format stays the same but the moves can always change. The structure: 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest. The time for each interval can vary (sometimes 30 seconds of work, 15 seconds rest, etc.) but the general structure remains the same. Work hard, rest, repeat.
