Weight Management

Don't run on empty; here's how to snack for stamina.

We’ve all done it when trying to lose weight––pushed our bodies past our calorie intake. This tactic might seem do-able in the short term, but will fail your goals and your health in the long run. Although it may be tempting to severely restrict your calories to help you lose weight faster, not eating can cause a variety of problems when you're exercising, and many people take their calorie cutting too far in hopes of seeing fast results.

What happens when you cut calories too much for too long?

Your body needs that energy in the form of fat to survive. So, what does your body do when it senses prolonged energy restriction? Not eating enough calories: slows down thyroid productions, decreases muscle mass, throws of hormone balance, and decreases energy levels. So in short, you have to eat calories to be a healthy weight. Ready to be fueled for your best performance, reach your goals, and sustain that healthy lifestyle? Embrace the snack!

#1 - Smoothies

A full serving of smoothie is a great meal replacement, especially if it packs in lots of nutrients and protein, but you don’t always have to go for the full enchilada.
